As you may know, we canceled this year’s Masquerade Ball and Annual Auction for the wellbeing and safety of our community. Covid19 has heavily impacted our organization: from canceling fundraising events to how we deliver services. Support groups are now virtual, counseling sessions are provided via telehealth, in person crisis response is equipped with full PPE, and our prevention specialists are presenting violence prevention and personal safety tips via Zoom. Like our community, we remain resilient.

Why support STAR, and why NOW?
We invite you to read these words we received from a client recently, to get an inside look at the services we provide and why your support is crucial.

Here's how you can make a difference.   We need your help by spreading awareness for our campaign and inviting your peers to help raise funds to support our prevention and trauma services.

There are two things you can do right now to help.

1.  Share our campaign on social media.  Twitter, Instagram, Facebook - whatever you use to post, like, or comment, let your followers know about the Be Our STAR campaign and why it matters for you.  Share now>>

2.  Create your own peer-to-peer fundraising team.  Did you know it only costs $25 to get a survivor through an initial crisis with a Crisis Care Kit?  $25 pays for new clothing and personal care items to victims who have to leave everything behind.  Even if you only raise $100, you'd still help us give four clients a fresh new start.  The needs, of course, go beyond a Crisis Care Kit, but every little bit helps.

$25 Crisis response kit (sweat pants, sweatshirt, personal hygiene items)
$50 Replacement bedding (bedding is often taken in as evidence)
$100 Food Voucher
$250 Lifeline phone with 3 month credit
$500 Utility set up $1000 Household set up (basic kitchen, bed and bath supplies)
$2000 Security system
$3000 Emergency rehousing
