What is the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault?
Founded in 1978, the Alaska
Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault (Network) is a statewide
coalition made up of twenty domestic violence and sexual assault
programs.
What is the
Networks philosophy?
The Network is committed to
the elimination of personal and societal violence in the lives of women and
children.
What are some of
the projects sponsored by the Network?
The
Clothesline Project
is a visual display to remember women who have been victimized by violence
and to bring awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault to communities
throughout Alaska. It is an opportunity for survivors to heal. It is also an
opportunity for society to help prevent the next assault, the next rape, the
next murder. It is a growing legacy that violence against women will no longer
be kept a secret. If you would like to add a shirt to the Clothesline to
commemorate your own or another womans experience, please contact the
Alaska Network
on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
