Crisis Line Training is offered free of charge to adults 18 and over with no violent criminal history. A one year commitment of 3 shifts a month is required as well as access to internet and email. Admin-back up and STAR staff is available 24/7 to answer questions and keep you connected!
Crisis Line coverage is needed during week day evenings, weekends, and holidays. You schedule your own shifts through our online system and volunteer from the comfort of your own home!
Spring 2013 Training
STAR offers two orientation nights for interested participants who want to gain more information about volunteering at STAR before signing up for training.
Orientation Dates:
April 5th & April 12th from 6pm-8pm
**All Trainees must attend one orientation night
Training Dates:
April 27th-May 4th
**All intersted participants must attend every training session
Saturdays 9am-5pm
Monday-Thursday 6pm-9:30pm
Applicants must attend all sessions to be covered by Alaskan "Priveledge Statute" which provides protection and confidentiality to adult callers.
