Crisis Line Volunteers

CHANGING ALASKA,      ONE CALL AT A TIME.

"Our staff of trained Crisis Line Volunteers allow us to provide services to our community 24 hours a day. We simply couldn't do it without their help."
                                  - Erin, Lead Advocate

Volunteering on our STAR Crisis Line is a rewarding and convenient way to give back to the community.  The Crisis Line is forwarded to your home and you set your own schedule.

"I've volunteered on the STAR Crisis line for 6 years and it is honestly the most rewarding volunteer work I have ever done."
                      - Sarah, Crisis Line Volunteer

Crisis line shifts vary in length ranging from 4 to 10 hours. Upon completion of training, volunteers are asked to commit to one year of volunteer service, signing up for 3 shifts a month.

STAR utilizes an on-line calendar program so Volunteers can check the schedule, read updates, and print off helpful information-24 hours a day.  Additionally, a STAR Administrator is available around-the-clock to support volunteers and staff.
